Updated Sprites and Collisions_Wk 9
This week, I was mainly working on sprite improvements. Firstly, I worked on Willie's sprite (see Willie Sprites). I have made a small sprite sheet. This is based on my designs from my project proposal. I redrew these on some grid paper. In Gimp, I did some digital painting to add Willie's colour. I added this to Unity and worked on the basic animation (see Willie Animation). I think this was simple but effective. It gives Willie character and texture on screen but does not require multiple designs on a sprite sheet.
Next, I worked on the enemy. The terrible flies! Originally in my project proposal I had a range of fly designs. I decided to select a simple design that has a clear silhouette and minimalistic detail (see Flies (The Enemy)). I think this is appropriate as it does not steal focus from Willie. Similar to Willie, I added some colour digitally. I think the grey greatly contrasts with Willie's intense oranges.
This week I also implemented script for my falling objects. I had to play around with the percentage of items being spawned. I think the amount I have at the moment is quite suitable (see Falling Objects). I have a higher percentage of Flies spawning then the balls. Unfortunately I have not added the final sprites for the squeaky balls.

Feedback:
This week I had positive feedback based on the player's movement. People have commented that the movement feels responsive which is extremely important. For a while I was worried the player would struggle to dodge the flies quickly enough (due to the control response). So, I am very happy!
